DESIGN / PURPOSE

Application and design rationale

Progressive design considering the final form

SlimMax is Adaptive and differs from single-vision FlatMax. Pre-calibration and frame selection affect final thickness; no fixed thickness-reduction value is stated.

Design mechanism and features

A slim progressive, not a single-vision lens

Although marketed in Lifestyle, SlimMax is a premium Adaptive progressive. Its technology description lists DURA SIZE 2.0 alongside DuraCore AI, DuraMesh, DuraTrace and DuraAperture.

Corridor and addition

NRP is 12–18 mm and addition +0.75 to +4.50 D. The frame must retain the near zone at the selected length; the shortest corridor is not always the most appropriate.

Thickness optimisation

The document claims thickness reduction “up to 30%” without comparison conditions or reference samples. It is not a guaranteed result for every prescription; geometry optimisation depends on prescription, material and frame dimensions.

Difference from FlatMax

FlatMax is single vision aimed at thickness optimisation; SlimMax additionally transitions across distance, intermediate and near powers. They are not direct substitutes in addition or corridor terms.

ENGINEERED FOR VISION

Technologies in this design

DuraTrace
Ray-tracing calculations and optical-aberration optimisation in surface design.
DuraCore AI
The computational engine introduced for surface-design optimisation.
DuraMesh
Managing surface geometry and changes in peripheral aberrations.
DuraAperture
Considering the effective pupil aperture when calculating viewing zones.
DuraFit Inset
Near-zone inset adjustment; the model's range appears in its specification table.

DURA SIZE 2.0

The updated document uses this term for geometry and thickness optimisation. It has no separate website page; its application is explained in this product's mechanism section.

POSITION OF WEAR

Measure before manufacture

Required parameters vary by design and must be recorded by a professional.

Monocular pupillary distance

Monocular pupillary distance

For aligning the lens centre with each eye's visual axis.

Fitting height

Fitting height

Vertical pupil position relative to the frame in the position of wear.

Back vertex distance

Back vertex distance

One of the inputs describing the actual position of wear.

These are basic fitting parameters; additional inputs and the level of personalisation are specified for each model.
